Mahendra Kutare
I'm a founder and engineer building DeepTrail — a trust layer that secures AI agents for enterprises through identity, authorization, and governance. Previously, I was a founding engineer at E8 Security (acquired by VMware), an early engineer at Boundary (acquired by BMC), and led data, machine learning, and AI teams at Motive, NIO, and D2iQ (acquired by Nutanix).
Over the past 15+ years, I've built and scaled large-scale distributed systems, data platforms, machine learning infrastructure, AI infrastructure, and agentic AI platforms. My work has spanned cloud platforms, observability, cybersecurity, mobility, and autonomous driving, across both high-growth startups and enterprise organizations. I studied at IIT Bombay and Georgia Tech. I founded Kaavya Connections, a community dedicated to poetry, literature, and music.
Some of my writing:
- Uber's AI Agent Identity Architecture — And Why Governable Execution Is the Next Frontier
- Your Agent's Tool Calls Are Not Transactions — And MCP Just Made That Official
- Instruction Robustness: Why Specs Written as Hints Break When You Change Models
- Spec Drift: When Parallel Agents Are Individually Correct but Collectively Wrong
- An AI Agent Deleted a Production Database in Nine Seconds. The Real Failure Was Architectural.
